Bi-State Values Statement
Bi-State’s values have been created by our team to describe the culture within our organization. Our values are a foundation of our work and offer a greater understanding of how we operate and make decisions as an organization to support the achievement of Bi-State’s mission and vision. Our work is additionally guided by our human, fiscal, and physical resources, and by our annual business and strategic plans.
We are dedicated to ensuring that these core values are integrated with our day-to-day work lives.
We are committed to continual growth and learning. We value inclusivity, creativity, innovation, and a drive for excellence. We seek opportunities to expand our thinking from our lived experiences, from the experiences of others, and from traditional and nontraditional sources. We promote continuous discovery, and we are committed to sharing our learning with the public, our member organizations, stakeholders, and one another.
We value action serving those in need. To this end, we provide accurate, respectful, and timely support to the leadership and staff at our member organizations, our funders, other stakeholders, and each other. This support is responsive to the ever-evolving health care and policy landscape.
We recognize and honor the diversity in perspectives and lived experiences of our colleagues, members, and community, fostering an inclusive organizational culture that respects and values every member of our community. We value honest, open, and direct communication and often use a team-based approach. We encourage each other to achieve work-life fulfillment.
Our work to further our member organizations’ community-based approaches to care mitigates health disparities and promotes health equity. Our policy and advocacy activities influence the systems, structures, and communities in which we operate. We approach all of our work with a goal of cultural responsiveness and with cultural humility. We embrace justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Our work is honest, ethical, and credible to our colleagues, member organizations, funders, stakeholders, the public, and each other.
